The Ultimate PC Gaming Setup Guide

Rogue Gaming Setup

For serious gamers, the ultimate gaming setup is a necessity. Whether you are looking to build out a fully decked gaming room or a perfectly compact bedroom gaming setup, the benefits are tremendous. The best setups can improve your ergonomics and allow you to reach your peak performance.

This article will outline what is needed for the ultimate gaming setup. We will cover roughly what you can expect to spend for each piece, and where to snag the best options.

What Do You Need For A Gaming Setup?

Chair

A gaming chair may often be overlooked, but it will make a huge difference.

Gaming can be a great way to escape from reality and into your favorite fictional world.

A comfortable gaming chair, with appropriate back support, can provide a sanctuary for you to enjoy your game without causing unnecessary back pain and discomfort.

While gaming chairs can have a wide range of prices, RESPAWN makes a high quality chair for under $200, with its RESPAWN 110.

Desk

The desk is another overlooked part of a great setup. You can choose from solid wood, laminates, and all kinds of different materials. While solid wood can look sophisticated, it will also be very expensive. Laminate desks can be a great and cost effective option. It's even possible for you to match your gaming setup, allowing you to choose from a wide array of colors.

Some other things to keep in mind when choosing a desk, are features such as: sit/stand, the depth of the desk, and the width of the desk. Sit/stand is a great feature, but pricy. Depth can be easily overlooked, but make sure it is deep enough to accommodate your mousepad and gives enough room to play at your desired mouse DPI.

Our personal favorite desks, are the laminate standing desks by UPLIFT. Base price on these desks are $599, which is a hefty price tag but they are sturdy and feature rich.

Energy and Hydration

Real talk guys and girls... you can have the best gaming setup in the world. The i9 CPU, 3090Ti GPU, the works, but if you're falling asleep at the keyboard, it won't matter! Every great gamer needs to be fully hydrated and energized to compete at their peak performance. Luckily, we've got you covered. Rogue Energy is hands down the most delicious and effective gaming drink on the market. We've got 3 different caffeinated lines: EnergyExtreme, and Shake, as well as, a caffeine-free line: Rogue Hydration. If you wanna try before you buy, check out a starter kit or some free samples.

I promise you, you do not want to game dehydrated and exhausted. Don't spend thousands on your rig, but hamstring your performance without an amazing gaming drink like Rogue Energy.

Computer

Arguably the most important thing for the entire gaming setup is the PC itself. There are so many different choices to make: CPU, GPU, RAM, Motherboard, case... the list goes on and on.

You will need to consider how the processor will handle the games you are looking to play. Most modern processors are going to be able to handle today's games without being your bottleneck. A good place to start is the Intel i5 or the Ryzen5 series. Obviously the i7 and Ryzen7 processors will provide more juice, but at a higher price point.

Graphics cards are where most gamers will choose to spend their money. AMD makes some really nice offerings, but the king in the space is still the NVIDIA cards. As of 2021 the 3xxx series is the most recent offering and if you can get your hands on one, it will hit the pocketbooks pretty hard.

You can choose to build your own if you're comfortable with it, or there are great options for a reasonable price from great brands like NZXT.

Keyboard

You have a lot of options when it comes to keyboards these days. While a membrane keyboard is going to be extremely cost-effective, they aren't quite as precise and don't have that amazing click that a mechanical keyboard does.

You can get a great keyboard for under $200, one of our favorites is offered by Razer.

Mouse

Just like keyboards, you have many different options when it comes to mice. Do you want wired or wireless? Which type of sensors do you want? How about the switches? Huano? Omron? The mouse you choose will help you with that pinpoint accuracy while sniping in COD or building in Fortnite.

A great mouse for all types of gaming is the Logitech G502 wireless. It costs about $150, but has great DPI settings, customizability, battery life, and weight.

Wrap It Up

Whether you choose to build your own PC, or buy a prebuilt. Whether you choose to use a standard desk or a sit/stand desk. You should now have a bit of an understanding of what every gamer needs in their setup.

Remember, the best gaming setup in the world is only as good as the gamer in the chair. If you've spent big $$$ on the setup, make sure to check out a great gaming drink like Rogue Energy!
